Anna Turajski – Alumna Profile
1. How long were you homeschooled through Seton, and what did you like about the experience?
I was homeschooled with Seton from fifth grade until twelfth grade. I really enjoyed the flexibility that came with being homeschooled. I was able to create my own schedule and work at my own pace.
2. Where did you go to college, and what is your degree?
I am currently attending at Aquinas College in Nashville, TN. If everything goes according to plan, l will graduate in 2019 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing.
3. How did your Seton education help you navigate the college experience?
Seton helped me to be self motivated and responsible for my own work. Years of studying alone helped me to be able to learn material on my own without sole depending on my professors to teach it to me. I can spend a lot less time studying but still do well because I know how to teach myself.
4. What are you doing now?
Right now, I am in school full time while also writing for Seton and a few other places. I took a gap year in between high school and college to run my piano teaching business and tutor. I am really glad that I did so because it gave me more time to decide what I really wanted to do.
5. What gives you passion or motivation in your current occupation?
I really enjoy flexibility that comes with nursing. I like how I am learning about so many different types of nursing, so that I can choose a field that I am really interested in. Although I am just a student now, I already enjoy being in a health care environment because it is never dull!
6. Any advice for current Seton High-Schoolers?
Don’t waste your great opportunities! Homeschooling provides a lot of flexibility. Don’t waste it by slacking off. Get your work done, find something you are passionate about, and do what it takes to excel at it.
