Welcome to the first issue of the newly revised and expanded Bayley Bulletin for Seton High School students. Seton Home Study School is excited to bring back this quarterly for teens, where you can expect just-for-you advice and inspiration, as well as perspectives from your peers, and a showcase of the best creative writing being produced in Seton High School.
In keeping with the academic calendar, this Fall issue focuses on new beginnings. What’s it like to be a first-time high schooler? Is home schooling going to work for you? How can you make the most of the next few years?
All these questions are considered and hopefully answered for you by young writers with Seton experience. Along the way, you’ll meet some interesting people, hear how other teens are meeting life’s challenges, and gain new perspective on what it means to be part of the Seton family.
As the 2015-2016 school year gets underway, I look back on my own high school years (which were longer ago than I care to remember) and think about what I might have changed, if such a thing were possible.
I think I would have liked to be part of a community such as Seton, where you know there are many other students doing what you’re doing, and there’s a support system in place. So, if I could leave you with one piece of advice, it would be this: get to know the Seton High School community.
Use the message boards, contact the counselors, get involved in the chess club and the literature contests, share your accomplishments on the achievements site. And if you have some thoughts you’d like to share, I’m always available via email through magazineeditor@setonhome.org.
Have a great school year!
