Student Profile: Ann Pham
1. What makes your family unique to other families you know?
Since my family is traditionally Vietnamese, we have Vietnamese food several times a week.
My parents are immigrants from Vietnam. We celebrate Vietnamese New Year, called Tet, every year.
2. What is an average homeschooling day with Seton like for you?
An average homeschooling day for me would start with going to 7:30 Mass in the morning, followed by breakfast. When the weather is nice, I ride my bike around the neighborhood to get in some exercise before I sit down for school.
After a quick prayer, I start school with religion, followed by history, a period of math, science, English, grammar, another period of math, and finally Latin.
3. What’s something you have done that you really enjoyed doing?
I really enjoyed walking along with my siblings and some close friends of ours when we went trick or treating on Halloween in our neighborhood. We had a blast!
4. What are your hobbies and interests?
I am an avid reader. I have been playing the piano for nine years now, and I enjoy it very much. Occasionally, I play the organ at Mass.
In the past few years, I have been particularly interested in hair styling. I have often been requested to style/cut the hair of close friends and family. I also enjoy sketching or painting in my free time.
5. What are some things you do as a family and on your own that you particularly enjoy?
As a family, we like to have movie nights and walks in the park. I am usually found contentedly practicing piano, reading, sketching, or snacking between meals. I also like doing fancy hairdos for my friends and my little sisters.
6. What do you hope to do in the future?
I hope to attend college at UMKC Medical School to become a pediatrician. I also want to become a numerary with Opus Dei.
