2016 03 Spring Quarter - page 2

At long last, we are thrilled to
announce the winners of the Seton
Home Study School short story contest.
Congratulations to Katelyn Daniels,
Zoe Krauskopf, Chantal LaFortune, and
Luke Foyle for taking first place in your
respective grades.
Short stories are notoriously difficult to write, but you were
ready for the challenge. In fact, the creativity and hard work
put forth by all of the entrants has been impressive, to say
the least, and the Seton staff would like to commend all the
entrants for a job well done!
Next quarter’s contest asks for a sonnet, and I personally
encourage all of our high school students to participate. You
can find more details on page 4.
We are just a few short weeks away from celebrating the most
important feast in our calendar, namely the Resurrection of
Christ. It is the feast of our salvation, the remembrance of
the one fact that matters more than anything else: Christ
rose from the dead after dying on the cross so that the gates
of Heaven might be opened, and the power of sin and death
might be destroyed for all eternity.
If you’re looking for a short story that is completely factual
and that packs a real punch, I suggest picking up the New
Testament sometime soon and reading one or two of the
Gospel accounts of Christ’s Passion, Death, and Resurrection.
In the meantime, enjoy the winning stories from Seton Home
Study School’s Winter 2015-2016 short story contest, which
you’ll find in this issue of the Bayley Bulletin.
Happy reading, and Happy Easter!
